Skills
Laboratory:
Lab management, basic molecular skills (DNA extraction, PCR etc), antibody extraction and antibody ELISA’s, dissection (avian).
Statistical:
Experimental design, modelling in R (Mixed effects models, linear regressions, simple graphics), JMP and Minitab.
Animal work:
Animal handling, blood sampling, administration of substances (eg vaccines) via approved routes, Home Office Licence.
Teaching
Wide understanding of experimental design and statistics. Organisation of multiple tasks and ability to discuss science with both students
and lecturers. Proficiency in basic statistics and statistical packages. Experience with lecturing, tutorial and statistics practical classes. I have recently been exploring different ways of lecturing and have started using lecture recording technology and interactive technology (TopHat) within my lectures.
